Good for basic needs

Signed up for the Basic Plan. Needed a quick Localhost Tunnel. It worked. Setup was fast. No issues with connecting. Happy with the service.

Pro Plan rocks for my projects

I got the Pro Plan a few weeks ago for my dev work and it's been awesome! I needed to expose a local server for a client demo and the Secure Tunneling feature worked perfectly. It was super easy to set up with the CLI client, took me like 10 minutes max. The custom domains are a big plus too, makes everything look way more professional. I used to mess with other services but this one is definitely my favorite. I'm telling all my developer friends to check it out. I'll for sure be sticking with LocalXpose for all my future projects. Highly recommend!

Easy setup, decent service

So I tried out the Team Plan last month for a small project with some colleagues. We needed to share access to a couple of local webhooks, and the HTTP Tunnels were pretty straightforward to get going. The GUI client was helpful for those of us not super comfortable with command lines. It wasn't instant, you know, but it took about a day or two to really get everything synced up how we wanted. Overall, the service worked as expected, and it made our lives a bit easier for sure. Not bad at all.

How many concurrent tunnels can you actually run on the Pro plan? I have a few projects going on.

P Phil 1 month ago
I'm not sure of the exact number but it's pretty generous. I run like 3-4 at once for different services and haven't hit a limit yet. It should cover most dev needs.

The Pro plan definitely gives you more than Basic. I'd check their features page for the exact count, but it's enough for multiple dev projects.

Thinking of getting the Pro plan. Are there any active coupon codes right now? Or should I wait for a sale?

A Andre C. 3 weeks ago
Your best bet for a discount is usually on annual billing, they give you like 20% off for that. As for codes, check around Black Friday/Cyber Monday, that's when they drop the big ones.

I usually just go for the annual payment to save some cash. Codes pop up, but they're not always super common outside of big sale events. You enter them in the billing dashboard.

I'm thinking about switching from monthly to annual billing to save some money. How do I actually do that?

S Sam Lindqvist 1 month ago
You should be able to do it right in your account dashboard, under billing or subscription settings. They usually make it pretty easy to upgrade or change your plan.

Just log in and go to your subscription details. There should be an option there to switch to annual. You'll definitely save a bit doing that.

Does LocalXpose allow custom domains? I need to use my own domain for a project.

P Phil 3 weeks ago
Yes, absolutely! Custom domains are one of the best features, especially with the Pro plan. It's pretty straightforward to set up too.

M Mike Osei 3 weeks ago
Yep, custom domains are supported. That's a big plus over some competitors if you're trying to keep things branded or more professional looking.

Can LocalXpose really handle production traffic? Like, is it secure enough for a small app I'm deploying?

J Jared 1 month ago
I've used it for a few small production apps, mostly for webhook testing and staging environments, and it's been rock solid. The end-to-end encryption helps a lot.

For small to medium projects, yeah, it's pretty secure. They use TLS and offer IP whitelisting and basic auth so you can lock things down. I wouldn't run, like, a banking app on it without extra layers, but for most web services it's fine.

Does LocalXpose offer any kind of student discount? I'm a dev student and every bit helps.

K Kevin Marsh 1 month ago
I've heard they sometimes have one, but it's not always advertised upfront. Might be worth reaching out to their support, or checking around Developer Week sales, sometimes those align.

I haven't seen a permanent student discount myself, but definitely look out for their seasonal sales like Black Friday or Cyber Monday, those usually have good deals.

What's the deal with their lifetime offer? Is that something that pops up often or only once in a blue moon?

N Noor W. 1 month ago
Lifetime deals are pretty rare with them, sometimes they do it as an early bird thing or for special events like Black Friday. If you see one, grab it fast.

They're not always available. I think they did one a while back, but it's not a regular thing. Keep an eye out during big sales.

hey, anyone know if localxpose has a free trial for the pro plan? wanna test it out before committing.

M Mia 1 month ago
Yeah, I think they do. I got a trial when I signed up last year. It's usually for a limited time.

They usually offer one. Check their main site, it should be pretty clear about it.
